Blitzball is the traditional sport in the world of Spira. It is played in the beginning of Final Fantasy 10, all through the end of the game. You can compete in tournaments and league games after a tournament in Luca. This extreme sport basically is full-contact handball only played in a sphere filled with water. This sport is an awesome addition to Final Fantasy X and allows several hours of more gameplay. You can recruit players from all over Spira using the "square" button. Depending on your team level which increases as you win games, you can find out more stats about that player. Some players from other teams you can recruit if their contract with that team expires. Be carefull to watch if your player's contract expires.. because other teams can take them immidiately if you don't re-sign them. Blitzball has it's own leveling system in itself, making it even more addictive. You can reach level 99 on any player, and their stats increase with each level.
